So I went to the doctor for my sleeping problem and he thinks I have an anxiety problem.  I have kind of thought that I might but didn't want to deal with it.  He put me on Lexapro and I felt great, but...I couldnt deal with the sexual side effects :( so I told him about it and then he wanted to try Effexor.  That stuff made me feel really weird so I stopped taking it.  Sooo thenn...He wanted to try Wellbutrin so I've been taking that for over a week and do not notice any difference.
My question is about the Wellbutrin.  From what I've read its for depression which I don't have.  Does anybody else take this for anxiety?  Also Has anybody taking Lexapro had the sexual side effects go away?
Thank you very much for any help!

Hi dolphin, welcome! I hate that anyone has to deal with a/p but it happens to the best of us. I do take wellbutrin, but ive been diagnosed with depression and anxiety. Im sure someone will come along with better input, there are some great ppl here. Keep us posted.

I took Wellbutrin for a couple years to off-set the side effects of paxil. You may want to ask your doc about combining it with the lexapro...

Taking anti-d's is a good way of dealing with anxiety as it tends to stop the thought's racing around in your head and dwelling on the anxiety disorder but on the other hand if you say that your anxiety is not that bad you could ask your doc about just taking something that is a fast acting med for your moments of anxiety like valium or xanex for it and it helps with sleeping to

Hi Dolphin and Welcome to HealingWell. I take 5mg of Lexapro (for GAD and depression) and 300mg of Wellbutrin (for depression). I have 5mg klonopin (generic) for when I can't get my stomach to stop churning and am more anxious than usual.

Did the welbutrin work in off setting the side effects? I really want to take Lexapro but I REALLY want to keep my sex life!
