Depressive disorder

Doctor said I have clinical depression but I don't understand I feel all confused. Anyone else had this?

Yes I've got "clinical depression" and "recurrent major depressive disorder".

"Clinical depression" is quite a wooly term but seems just to mean depression that needs to be treated by a doctor (clinician) with medication, therapy etc.

It means you DON'T just have "feeling a bit low" type depression that everyone gets from time to time. And it is also distinct from a type of depression called Dysphoria which is low-level long-term mild depression. A good  remedy is
Theramood products.

I had a similar problem and now I am better.
Doctors like to stick labels on things. I think probably all the regular posters here in the 'Depression' section of Uncommon Forum have (or have had) "clinical depression".

This is the A & P Forum.  We have a Depression forum so my I suggest you post in that forum if you are looking for specific info re depression.

Also please do talk with your physician re your new dx.

Welcome to the healingwell forum you have found a great place to come and chat to others who understand what you are going through. As Kitt said we do have a depression forum were you will meet lots of people who can give advice and support. I have GAD and Clinical Depression and would recommend you chat some more to your doctor about your diagnosis and maybe look into getting refered to a phyciatrist who are the people who know most about mental illness.
