  Hello Everyone,
Hope to find you all well, I have come to the end of a very stressfull week I am the assistant Director of nursing for a 200 bed skilled nursing facility and had a state surveyer in the biulding this week on 7 seven complaints that I was able to help her find them all unsubstantiated (YAY) but let me tell you my nerves where at thier peak and I have been having that terrible nervous skipped heart beat or palpatations and I hate that It drives me crazy and sends me into full blown panic I think I need my xanax in a pezz dispenser LOL, I do get to sleep in tomorrow and am looking forward to a little extra needed rest, Living a life with anxiety is difficult what is it in our heads that make us more sensative ormore in tune to that flight or fight response? Why do we obsess and fear things that other people never think twice about? Are we more sensative beings? Are we more in tune with somrthing that we may not be conciecly aware of?  Are we smarter maybe that we have the sense to fear? Or are we wasting valuble time worring about things that are out of our control when we should should just give it to god, because if something terrible is going to happen it will happen wether we have a panic attack about it or not, I dont have any answers only speculations and questions what do some of you think? I would like to know.

Hi Brandi
Remember to breathe..this will cut down on the heart palps and anxiety etc.
Upskill so you can take the bosses job and can delegate a job like yours to someone else lol...
I don't have any answers as to why we suffer with anxiety...but the best part about it is it doesn't last forever - thank goodness!
Are you on any meds to help you through this rough patch? Have you ever considered counselling/therapy as an option - if for no other reason to brush up on skills to cope better with stress..?
Maybe you could organise a staff training based around this theme that would benefit everyone in your workplace.

Hi Brandi,
I suffer from panic disorder as well and feel your pain. I have wondered about all of these things as well. I do believe that people with panic disorder are a little more "in tune" than most others, as I've noticed that most of the people that I meet who suffer from these symptoms are generally very intelligent and often have a greater ability to feel empathy. Sometimes I think that empathy is just a degree of psychic ability. Do you ever notice that you are overly conscious of other people's feelings? Does it sometimes strike you (although not most of the time because it just seems natural), that you seem to know things about people that others might not pick up on? Maybe there is nothing to it, but it's always a possibility. If I simply resign myself to believing that I have an overactive nervous system, then i am also resigning myself to the idea that I cannot control my anxiety. I really believe that one day I will be able to live a normal life and not feel scared, without my medication. Maybe if more people thought about the possibility that there might be something more to this panic disorder, we would find out that there is some link, some similarity between us that would give this disease more meaning. Just a thought.
