Well, after 4 years of dealing with a/p I finally decided to join. I've been reading posts here and there, mostly when I needed reassurance that it truly was anxiety and panic that I deal with. I just wanted to say that I can see the sincerity (sp) here in the posts to each other. All of you are truly trying to help one another and that's great! Well, anxiety introduced itself to me when I was a child, but has gotten way worse within the last few years, mostly this year when I had a baby, lost my mother who was only 48, almost lost my husband of 15 years to 2 major car accidents and a ruptured appendix.I am sooo glad that 2006 is over. But anyways, I get the typical shaking, weird dizziness, chest pain, arm pain, chills, heat running through my body etc...the list goes on because the symptoms always change. I've had all the test done to rule out thyroid problems etc... I have done cognetive therapy which does help.  I have used paxil, prozac, xanax and ativan and they all make my symptoms worst. Although, the ativan does work on occasion. I may go months without taking ativan and when I do take it, it is .5 mg for about two or three days. I have gotten better at dealing with all of this, I managed to stay away from the ER for 6 months now...which is a loooong time for me. So anyways, I just wanted to kinda introduce myself and encourage everyone to hang in there and stay strong.
