we should remember that long term anxiety does not make us immune to physical illnesses
beware of the doc who wants to blame everything on your nerves or anxiety
for example a recent post about a tight throat is probably from nerves but just might be from a food allergy and quite serious
It took me many years to get a diagnosis of sleep apnea, I complained of cronic fatigue and the docs always said it was depression
another example is blaming dizzyness on nerves when it can be from a buildup of wax in the ears
recovered former longtime anxiety and panic attack sufferer and helper of other sufferers  but no training or  qualifications in medicine or psychology, any remarks that may be taken as advice must be confirmed with doctor or other health professional

Too true - I think some of us are more likely to get ill....deffo stress related illnesses aggrivate things like colitis.

Yep Some docs think having anxiety means you can never really be sick. I would get siunis infections and get dizzy and feel cruddy and they would say ( you just need to calm down! ) Err I cant stand that!

EXACTLY. I am so sick of Drs. just dissmissing symptoms you come to them with just because they know you have an anxiety problem already. That really infuriates me! Just because we have a mental condition does not mean we are immune to other types of illnessess. They need to be MORE ATTENTIVE.
I get sinus too! I get drainage soo bad... and I get dizzy a LOT.

Guess I'm lucky - my doc isnt like that at all. Course it may be that I was his first "Anxiety Patient". Got tired of travelling 35 miles to my gyn every 3 months for rx visits and asked him to take over. He did some research and then agreed. His first inclination is medical/physical...

I'm the same as GFK my dr knew me before I got sick with the fibro, severe ostioparosis and Alapicia Herita so he was treating me for that then the anxiety and depression set in so he sent me to another dr that could help me and give me meds for that. We are blessed to have these kind of doctors.
I have an illness, My illness don't have me.
