hello... im a part of the lyme disease forum on healing well... but i have anxiety from my lyme disease so i thought id pop into this section to see if anyone had any ideas on how to get rid of anxiety... but as i was reading the subjects i have noticed that there are a good ammount of people in this section who have more symptoms then just anxiety... such as facial/body numbness and tingling... twitches... dizziness.... and so i just wanted to write to everyone on here really quick about that...

i have had lyme disease for 8 years. it started out with being dizzy all of the time, numbness and tingling in my face, arms and legs, and alwyas tired.. i got tested for all sorts of things including lyme disease (negative), ms (negative), gullion berret (pardon my spelling, but negative).. the list goes on... and doctors finally chalked it off as mono becuase they really couldnt come up with anything else..

after a few months i was fine and back to normal again. but four years later i was in college and all of the sudden (after some tramatic situations) i was really really anxious, and really really dizzy... ALL THE TIME.. no matter if there was stress going on in my life or not... and it just got worse and worse every day. finally after a few months of feeling dizzy and anxious... with other symptoms that came on such as termors, fatigue, unexplained weight gain, numbness and tingles in my face/legs/arms again, agoraphobia (fear of open spaces), chest pains, light sensitivity... just to name a few.... well i went to a bunch of doctors - eye doctor, ear nose and throat doctor, nuerologist... you name it i went... anyway.. after about a year of all sorts of random little diagnosis that REALLY could not possibly have been the reason for the way i felt my mom figured ok ya know what... you need a psycologist... so she called to schedule an appointment for me and the woman asked if i had been tested for lyme disease... my mom said yes a few years ago when my weird symptoms first started and the woman informed my mom that where we live - rhode island (and most other states) dont test for lyme completely. i dont know exactly, but i think rhode island tests for 13 strains and theres over a hundred i believe? and there is something called "co-infections" that can come with lyme disease also... well the tick that bit me was pretty sick becuase i have lyme disease with two co-infections called bartanella and babisia... anyway, the psychologist's secretary gave my mom the name of a lyme knowlagable doctor... we made an appointment with him and he had my blood work tested CORRECTLY (it has to be sent to certain labs in either new jersey or california i believe) and i dont think normal doctors send the blood work to these correct labs... anyway, i was diagnosed with lyme disease... im still pretty sick with it... im still on a ton of antibiotics and what not for it but i finally know exactly what is wrong with me... i thought i was crazy before... because numbness and tingling in your face? tremors? stuff like that is not normal for a woman in her early twenties.. sooo i just thought id spread the knowlage to you guys... if you have other symptoms besides anxiety its worth a shot to consider getting tested for lyme... becuase you cant get better without knowing whats wrong and how to be treated!!

i suggest if you have other symptoms with your anxiety... please check out the "lyme disease" section here on healingwell. org.... and if that doesnt give you enough info look up lyme disease on the internet... because i know i sure didnt realize that lyme disease could cause soooo many strange symptoms and make a person this sick! i didnt believe it until i experianced it for myself~! so if your having facial tingling, or tremors, or ANYTHING with yoru anxiety... just check out the lyme disease symptoms list.. and if you have some symptoms, get checked! i dont want otehr people to have to ever experiance lyme disease... thank you for reading this, i hope i could help someone out!

I had to edit your posts as you had duplicates which is against forum rules.

I changed the title of your thread to combine both of the ones you posted. Please be aware duplicate posting is against forum rules and be careful to avoid in the future. I appreciate your input about the possibility of a misdiagnosis...

Thanks for your input
Most that have anxiety do already have the symptoms or some of them you have discussed but I would like to make it quite clear that because you have these symptoms or go thru a few of them does not mean you have LYMES........
A/P ppl are Health Anxiety sufferers as well so I just wanted this lil note attached
Agian I thank you for your input

ok you know what, i really was just trying to help. i realize that people can have anxiety and other symptoms but not have lyme disease, i wasnt implying that. all i did was simply see that people were asking questions about other "symptoms" that i also experiance... and i shared my story quickly in hopes that if someone DOES have strange symptoms on top of anxiety... LIKE I DO... AND A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE WITH LYME DO.... i thought MAYBE it could help SOMEONE. i understand that the two of you who posted after me must just have anxiety or something, but theres people out there who really do need to know that having anxiety, and numbness or tingling, dizziness, and everything else i mentioned.... doesnt mean your crazy! because i thought i was crazy for a very long time until someone told me a little about lyme disease... and once i became a little educated, and got tested i found out what was wrong with me finally... im not trying ot scare anyone on here, BUT IF THERE IS SOMEONE ON HERE that is still trying to figure out what is wrong with them, I THOUGHT ID TRY AND HELP... didnt realize there was something so wrong with that, ill never do it again after your post thats for sure.

tick tattoo I think it's a good thing that you wanted to post here to try to help others. I found your post to be informative and helpful. I am actually going to have my doctor test me for Lyme also because some of my symptoms did start soon after a tick bite.
