Ok I've been feeling pressure in my head for about a week now and am convinced im having either an aneurysm or a brain tumor! It hurts sometimes but goes away at night when im sleeping. I have no mobility issues but still am paranoid. I had a panic attack on the way to the doctors and they told me I had a sinus infection due to the postnasal drip and head pressure but really didnt run any tests. Now im having vision problems and swear something is just not right. Is this all anxiety ?? also my chest hurts once in a while when i think about the symptoms. Im 21. I shouldnt be going through this!

read up about nasal and sinus irrigation on the net, the best way to deal with long term sinus or mucus problems

did they give you any antibiotics?

Maybe you could ask them if they could run some kind of test to ease your mind? try not to obsess on it too much and see if the symptoms decrease...sometimes thinking about it can make things worse

Sinus infections are very painful. I had one once and I felt as though my head would explode. Michelle is right, the more you think about symptoms, the worse they get. Having a sinus infection is pretty painful but it will go away. Try steam inhalation aswell, that sometimes helps.

I've been a sinus sufferer all my life. You'd need more than two hands to count the number of infections I've had.

What you describe fits the doctor's diagnosis. Even the vision problems (you have sinuses right behind your eyeballs). I think they're right. Doctors see this sort of thing ALL the time, and I'm not sure there's even a test for it besides a head x-ray. Why expose yourself to radiation when you don't have to?

The bad thing is, sinus infections can be stubborn. They can last a week or two, even in a healthy individual. For unhealthy people they can last longer.

Take your antibiotics and whatever OTC meds your docs recommended. Your symptoms will improve, and that will prove that you're having sinus troubles and not a brain tumor.

Good luck to you
