Hi! Some of you know me already, I come on the board from time to time when Im not busy with my 5 kids, hubby, and school. So I just found out I was pregnant again. It wasnt by any means planned and to be honest 5 of um make me wanna hang myself ..the 6th is gonna do me in. lol But it happened its here..what can i do about it. I do have a question tho about getting off the ativan while pregnant. I dont see the doc for another month, and I dont know what harm it will do to the baby if any. In the past I never had this problem because being pregnant was the only time in my life i wasnt panicing and anxious. This time tho, its still really bad. The ativan is one of the main reasons i can get through class each night. Also I just got diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue a couple months back..does anyone know how being pregnant will effect someone with Chronic fatigue. I know I need to talk to my doc about all this and I will, but until then any advice or words of wisdom would be great. Thanks!

Hunnibee, I can't help much with the pregnancy and chronic fatigue.. I had all four of mine before my real issues hit me. But I do know ativan can be dangerous, and you should probably call doc and try to get in sooner to get weaned off it. Hopefully, your hormones will settle down soon and you will feel better!

Ativan is classified as a D meaning it is not safe to take while pregnant. Call your OB and ask what they think you should do.

It use to be the First trimester that they told you to stop meds drinking ect.....
When I was preggars with Cait who is now a teen I was on codeine which is bad and diaxapam
I was weaned off the codeine thru the preggars BUT was allowed to take the valium thru the full pregncy
If its any consilation there is NO damge to Cait she is very actually highly ittelligent and never had any problems other than some anxity but I believe that is where the environment comes in .
I try not to let her see the angst but she is not fooled ........

Congrats ....OMG six kids

sometimes being pregnant stops all anxiety and panic attacks, sometimes not

depends on the ativan dose, best to take it only as needed, many take ativan type meds while pregnant with no problems at all

a possible cause of cronic fatigue is a sleep disorder such as sleep apnea, sadly docs seldom think of this, especially with anxiety sufferers, who many docs seem to think, are immune to all physical illnesses ( in other words, every complaint must be from their anxiety)

do you snore or are you restless in your sleep?

info on sleep apnea is on the net

I, too, have read that women have scaled back on stuff like Ativan while pregnant with no apparently harm to the fetus, but it's not a chance I'd take without consulting your OBGYN. Easy for me to say, being a guy and everything, but yeah.
