I hesitated to post this as I can see no way to explain without being a bit graphic...it's not something I'm comfortable talking about but it may help any underlying anxiety about it by talking about it. If you don't want to read this (it is gross!), please STOP NOW.
For the last 4-5 days, I've been having to go to the bathroom quite frequently. Today I've already been about 5-6 times. Some of my stools are solid mixed with a lot of liquid and then other times it's like watery mud sitting in the bottom of the toilet. The color is yellow basically (no blood thankfully!). I've been feeling extremely tired all over and am sleepy all day, no matter how much sleep I get! I am overweight (I weighed last night and I'm fatter than I've EVER been!). I am "borderline" diabetic and have been being way too lax with the sugar.... nono   (I am not on diabetes meds) Thinking that my blood sugar might be too high has caused me to behave myself today as all I've drank is water and ate veg's and skinless chicken. I will continue to "be good" because now I'm freaked out by the constant diarrhea and extreme weight gain! Mom says I look puffy, so I may have some water gain as well as fat gain! I am not on my period nor is it due soon.
I lay on my bed for a few minutes just now and tried to cry cuz I feel rough and am worried. I don't want to have to go to doctor because I'm scared of colonoscopies and barium enemas and such. I don't think my anxiety disorder would let me do it!!!! I'm also leery of having all my meds washed out of my system. I'm afraid I'll have a setback with the GAD!
I am going to eat right and see what happens over the next few days. Mom says I should take metamucil like I used to do when I had a lot of diarrhea years ago to form bulk (I was diagnosed with IBS years ago and that's what the doc prescribed)
When I ate today, it wasn't very long before I was in the bathroom and I could see that some of what I had eaten was already leaving my system...
Any thoughts are welcome.
thanks all,
Yesterday's dead
Tomorrow's unknown
Today is here
And soon will be gone.
Use it wisely
Before it's too late
Remember to love
And forget to hate.

Dear Janet,

I understand your fears. I am wondering if you don't just have a intestinal bug right now causing the change in your stools. I have the IBS and I use Fibercon tabs which work well.

I would be concerned about your weight and the diabetes. Do you have a glucometer so you know what your blood sugar is?

It is difficult to go to the physicians office but if you have been gaining weight and not sticking to your eating plan I woul like to see you choose the physician's visit to get back on track. So please think about this option. :)

Have you taken anything for the diarrhea?

You said you are fatigued, your electrolytes may be a bit off too but again the best is to get the opinion of your professional.

I hope you are soon back on track. Keep posting.

Gentle Hugs

God, I hate talking about this but I will anyway. I have a lot of crazy bowl movements at times, too. I'm not diabetic, but I am slightly overweight (ten or fifteen pounds) and my occasional problems don't sound wholly unlike yours.

I'd go so far as to say that I rarely have what I'd consider a normal BM, but then again I've had my gall bladder removed so I suppose that could be the source of some it. Mostly, though, these little spells last a few days or maybe a week and seem to be triggered by what I call "background anxiety". I'm not sure if that term will make sense to anyone, but it's sort of like anxiety that's there but not not at the forefront of my mind.

My diet has improved but it's not the best. I also take no fiber supplements even though the docs have told me to. I try to get dietary fiber instead.

Anyway, I've always considered my problems to be some kind of intermittent IBS or something, and anxiety related of course.

But if I were you I'd go to the doctor for sure. I don't because I've seen more gastros than I can count over the past few years and there's nothing they haven't seen, but that's just me. The doctor may be able to help you out. I certainly wouldn't worry about flushing the meds out of your system. Kitt will know more about this, but I think they're absorb fairly quickly in the digestive tract, and then your liver has to monkey with them. GO TO THE DOCTOR. If this keeps up you'll likely experience a GAD relapse, anyway, from the way you sound. Sorry to be so direct.

This is NOT a gross post not something you should be embarrassed about either'
As you know I have crohns D and I have D all the time thus the loss of so much weight as everything ( almost ) that I eat comes right back out :: cannot eat veggies especially corn or am in agony for ever as with salads and almost all pre fab food ........

There are plenty of other tests liks soft Bowel and yes the colonoscopy is uncomfortable but I find the prep the worst......you may need to get it done to find out what is going on

You must get this checked out asap .....
As Kitt posted your electrolytes like potassium and such are no doubt way outta whack and you are also no doubt dehydrated making you sleep constantly......especially with the amount of BM's you are having
My mornings are the worst for me I get cramping about 4 am and on toilet for next 3 to 4 hours with watery D and pain in my left side mostly

Yes a/p stress can do this but I thiink that something else just may be going on with you

Please let is know what is going on with you asap and do SEE a doc an internist an GI someone that will be in the know okay''Keep us posted plz
