Hi everyone,
I had a stressful week!  I've been sick with a respiratory infection and I finally feel a little better today.
about a 1 1/2 months ago, I found out my cat had cancer.  Well yesterday I had to put her to sleep.  She gave me and my family 16 years of pure joy!  She was my little angel.  It was very difficult but I know she is in a good place.
I am feeling very anxious the past few days knowing it was gonna come to this and yesterday topped it off!  In the middle of the night I almost had a full blown panic attack which I haven't had in 3 months.  Today I feel a little better, but I am very anxious and feel very restless.
I'm hoping tonight is a better night.  Thanks for reading and my best to everyone on the board:)!

Hey Mary!

Sorry to hear about you week. Thats really sad. I'm going through something similar. My 13 year old dog my need to be put down next week. I'm kind of a loner and he has been my best friend since he was 6 weeks old. So, I'm in the thick of it with the animal thing.

Two things sounds really positive for you though.
1. Your own health, you respiratory infection is letting up and you feel better today!
2. You went through a very hard period with your pet and you will now begin to grieve and recuperate.

My dogs health has been really going down hill for the past 4 months and its been extremely hard. I think the toughest part is yet to come, so i want to say that you're a very strong person and you should be really proud of that.

And i agree, your kittie is now in a good place! And your outlook about how she gave you and your family 16 years of pure joy is beautiful and such a positive outlook. I really admire that.

Anyways, just wanted to say that!

take care_

Dear Sweet Mary

I am sorry you got hit with a respiratory illness as I know they can really knock you off your feet.

You have my sympathy at the death of your sweet cat.  It is  a heartbreaking experience for you and your family. Grief over the loss of any loved pet  is legitimate and can be profound. Give yourself time to mourn, and do what you feel is appropriate.

Remember your special friend will frolic forever in your heart.

Gentle fuzzy hugs to you my friend.

The Other Mary :)

Hi Dan,
Welcome and thanks for your comment.  It is very difficult to let go of an animal.  They are family!  I know you are doing the right thing and you will get through this!  Suffering is something no person wants their pet to go through.  You will have all the memories and be comforted by the fact that you gave him a wonderful life and unconditional love.  You are both in my thoughts and prayers!
Hi Kitt,
Thanks for your kind and comforting words hun.  They always mean so much.  My fluffy baby (that's what I called her) will frolic in my heart forever!  I have been feeling anxious. But you are right, I need to give myself time.  It has only been a few days.  Gonna get out a bit tomorrow with my husband.  Luv Ya!
Hugs to you both.
