Those "what ifs" should be banned. If you wake up in the middle of the night as I used to I know you feel like there is not another person in the world thinking of you. The crazy thinking starts and off you go in the circle of "what ifs"
Can you picture a big red stop sign and concentrate on that. STOP the circle, get off the merry-go-round and let go of the thoughts. You will deal with the "what ifs" when they happen and you know they may never happen.
Practice breaking out of the circle.
