It's not that I don't think I'm anxious---I just think that he thinks the pains I am having are b/c of anxiety----whereas......I think my anxiety has been brought out b/c of the pains (GI Tract/Mid back)....I had the pains FIRST---which caused me to become anxious about them (and dying etc...)
Have any of you ever approached this "2nd opinion" with your doc?
What did you say?
How did s/he take it?
Did you end up finding out something different with a 2nd opinion?
Did you go back to the first MD after the 2nd opinion?
I am going to see MD tomorrow---to talk about my progress with some of my stomach/back pain---about taking Klonopin &/or Celexa etc...  and about where to go next----I've been having a difficult time finding a GI Guy (other long posts about this)---who will see me.......wish me luck---and give me some advice.
thank you, and hugs!

Depending on your insurance will be the issue on a second opinion.  Is there someone in the same clinic or  group that you can make an appointment to see?

If your a private insurance call you insurance and see if you need a referral to see another physician.  Please don't worry about the physician, take care of you.  Your primary physician may be right but you have the right to ask for a second opinion.

Gentle Hugs.

Kitt--- thank you for your response. According to my MDs office---they won't 'allow' you to see other MDs in the same practice----(kind of the same situation with trying to see another GI guy in the same practice I went to 2 years ago---and was referred to a different guy----the practice refused to see me....)

anyone else have words of wisdom-? Please?

In Australia we have to pay for most of our dr's up front then claim some of the money back, that's what makes me so mad about not being able to see who you want.

I believe if your not happy with your doctor for whatever reason you are entitled to get a second opinion afterall doctors are only human and make mistakes too.

I know here in Ontario a second opinion is not ever a problem ......

If your insurance covers another Doc then by all means do ask for a second opinion

Do not be afraid to ask
It is your health and your body........
They ( docs) are not God .........they are Human just like us

Let us know how you make out plz
