Hello all,

I have been on .5mg of Ativan taken every night for about a year. I now believe it is time to stop taking them and have decided to start tapering and would like to do so as safe as possible. My doctor seems to think that it will be no big deal trying to taper off them pretty quickly however I would like to do so a little slower. My scheduled plan is as follows.

.5mg to .25mg for 2 weeks and then ok to go cold turkey? or should I go to a even lower dose? Any opinions or experiences would def. help me out in this difficult time. Thanks

Your dose of Ativan is pretty low and you have only been on one year so your schedule is looking ok to me. You may want to add one more week and take the .25mg every other night and than stop. This is just my personal opinion.

Good luck and I wish you the best.
