Hey all, I was just wondering if anyone else had taken Reboxetine for their depression or anxiety and if it worked well etc. I've just been prescribed it and have started taking it, but I can't find anyone else online that has actually taken it.

Reboxetine (Vestra) is not a med seen much on the forums and I will note why at the bottom of my post.

Unlike most antidepressants on the market, reboxetine is a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (NRI); it does not inhibit the reuptake of serotonin, therefore it can be safely combined with an SSRI.

By mid-2001, reboxetine was licensed worldwide in over 50 countries, including Italy, Germany and the United Kingdom. In May 2001, however, the Food and Drug Administration declined Pharmacia's license application for the American market. As such it is yet to be available in the United States.

Sorry I could not give you a better answer. eyes

Yeah, i know its not out yet in the US, and i will let you know anything i find out about this med. So far the only side effects i've had are dizziness (but maybe its just anxiety so not sure), Cold feet and hands (but not 100% certain it is a side effect), and lack of sleep which is definately a side effect, i can drop off, but will wake up through the night and then really early in the morning. Not as bad as when i started taking effexor a few years back though, or paxil last year. Hopefully this is all i will experience in the way of side effects. Does anyone know why the lisence was denied? I had a quick look online but could not find the reason? My GP told me this one was especially good for anxiety though as well as depression, so hopefully the panic attacks will ease at least with this.
