Linda,

Hello, I am Kitt and after reading your wonderful post I thinking your just pulling my leg, you are part of this group, you fit right in. Love the story of the lights, just don't put the lights in a pattern that resembles a runway. If you hear this, RUN............. " >bravo Juliet tango< can you ah slow down to not above one four 2 zero "

I would go out and take a picture from my deck but the snow is waist high........lol.  I am in Minnesota, Land of the Hot Dish.

A Christmas thought:
STRESSED is just DESSERTS spelled backward.

Hey Big Sis, eat those sundaes.  Bare back, why would I have to ride a horse with nothing on my back?

Kota,

Uffda at ya sista.  Start shoveling so you can get out and party with Ole and Lena.

Hugs all around.

Lil Sis

Hi Kitt,

Actually, we have "met" before soon after I joined the HW forum for Alzheimer's and even when I was posting occasionally on the anxiety/depression threads. You are great at welcoming and acknowledging folks!
As for the airplanes and danger therof, I really had forgotten to give that thought. I have been more preoccupied with the fear of getting a notice from the city that my lights up here on the hills are blinding folks who live nearby, and insisting I decrease the wattage.

On this same property, when my folks were alive, my mother who had grown up on a dairy farm and LOVED the smell of manure, chicken manure, and all things organic and plant healthy, ordered two huge truckloads of chicken "poo" delivered so that she could truly mulch and add wonderful compost to her enormous garden. The neighbors, even though pretty far away, and the downtown businesses even, lodged complaints and wrote letters to the editor about a horrific smell coming from down the hills, that they wanted it investigated and then immediately terminated! Come to find out it was just a 70 year old retired restaurant owner and then avid gardener who was merely trying to improve the soil quality. She never even gave a thought to the smell, as it was something wonderful to her. She was stubborn even then (almost 24 years ago) and refused to have the compost removed. It was, after all, her property and she had a right to garden in any manner she wanted as long as she was not posing a danger to anyone. The city responded many times that the smell WAS a danger, that people were extremely upset and bothered by the "stench" so Mom started replying to those letters to the editor about her manure. She was adamant that she and dad would not have it removed, and that even if she did, the smell wouldn't just go away as she and Dad had already tilled a good truckload of it into the dirt! More letters, more warnings, more complaints and more insistence from Mom that people would just have to accept it, that it was nature, and nothing worth all their time complaining about. She took a stand for her manure and was not about to give up her support of it!

Then one day she calls me when I am at work teaching to tell me that representatives from the Environmental Protection Agency had come to the house with formal documents requiring the removal!! Naturally she was angry and because I knew my mother, I knew she wasn't threatened at all by them, state, federal agency or anyone else with a "tinny looking pretend badge!", this coming from a woman extremely active, long before it was popular, in the preservation of the environment, going so far to testify to the state senate about the damage and danger of local proposed dams to the native wildlife and flora!!! She kept her stand and the men enjoyed wonderful homemade lemonade in her beautiful antique goblets, served on a silver tray with beautiful cookies, napkins with pictures of garden scenes on them, sitting on the deck and enjoying the view. Three hours later, after the snacking and visiting by my always hospitable and somewhat manipulative mother, the men had looked the garden over, saw how lush everything was compared to other gardens, became slightly accustomed to the smell, visited more, had a bit more of that lemonade, and then left wishing her a wonderful spring and summer, and complimenting her on her choice of compost!!

I'm still blowing snow and we are supposed to get another 4-7 inches. As for living in Minnesota, in the winter everyone walks on water. :-)

Kota are you whining again?  So a few bruises will add color to ya, can't get us no tans dis time a year don't ya know?

I am wishing my ancesters were Pirates of the Caribbean.  Hubby just home from upnorth so he is plowing the driveway.  I went out and walked in a circle in the fresh snow in the driveway.  He wanted to know what I was doing when he saw the footprints.  I was lost in a snowstorm, could he not tell?

Big sis take care and you don't go falling like Our friend here from NoDak.

Warm hugs to all

Kitt
