Hi arthritis board........
 
I am gonna write this and see if journaling helps my pain a bit.  I just CANNOT believe the amount of pain I am in tonite.  It started around 5pm and has lasted all evening long.  I just got finished slathering BioFreeze all over myself...boy do I ever smell peachy! LOL  J/K!  The pain is in every single joint I have, fingers, wrists, elbows, toes, knees, ankles and on top of that, the muscle ache is body-wide as well!  I am at a loss for words to describe it. 
 
I did a very foolish thing today...but it had to be done.  See, we're selling our home; my husband has taken a position in OK City, OK.  Our home was listed on the market this afternoon, so I knew I had a full day of cleaning (mostly tidying up, some mopping and vacuuming) ahead of me.  I took a Motrin to begin the day with...but tonite I wish I had something strong enough to knock me over the head and put me out for the night.  So, anyway, back to my mistake....I cleaned 5 rooms of the house back to back; basically on my feet for 5 hrs straight.....I did take breaks and sit and rest for awhile though about once an hour.
 
Our weather is very mild here in the midatlantic, around 70degrees today...so I dont think that's causing any of this....But then again, this is the worst flare of my RA I've ever experienced in my life. 
 
I guess on Monday I'll be calling the Rheumy to get a follow up appt (maybe an emergency one would be better?) and see what in the world is going on. 
 
You all know me, I haven't posted in forever and a day.....was feeling great, now this. 
 
Thank you for listening to my vent and special thank yous for letting me have a place to go to do so!  I guess I just needed your experienced ears for a moment!

Thank you Flopsie, and your family is in my prayers right now as well.  I have read up on the posts here about your precious grandson and I will not stop praying until we hear good news ok?  Stay strong girl, it will be ok.  I'm hanging in there today, woke up feeling a lot less pain...just in my fingers majorly intense!  So I guess that is much better than what I was going thru last night w/the leg aches.  Phew.....

Scolding taken, will know better next time!

Beth, welcome back! Haven't heard from you in so long... sorry you are not doing so well... How are you feeling today? Hopefully better... maybe a good night's rest did you some good? If not, rest up and let us know how you are doing.... New job, how exciting... I've been to OK City alot... I liked the city, just not the roads/interstates... they were always so tore up and bumpy...made for a painful ride...

Diagnosed January 2005 - Psoriatic Arthritis/Dactylitis/Spondylitis 
   -Currently taking 50mg shot weekly of Enbrel
 
Diagnosed May 1998 - Graves Disease
   -Complete Thyroidectomy September 1998 - While 11 weeks pregnant
 
Other Complications - GERD/Scoliosis/Hiatal Hernia

I really hate that you are in so much pain,I can relate because I'am haveing a really bad flare as well.I think that my RA and OA are both acting up.I just took some pain meds my self I called my Pm doc and told her that I was in a lot of pain and takeing 15mg og oxycodone was not getting it so she told me that I could up the does to 30mg it help's to dull the pain but it never goes away it just makes it bearable.Right now I'am in between Rhuemy's I have a appointment with a new one on the 29th of this month and boy I can't wait.I have been haveing trouble with my liver levels so I was taking off alot of my arthritis neds due to this and I'am sure this is what is causing me to be in so much pain.I do hope that you get to feeling better soon.

I got to feeling a little better and then boom, my period started!  *Sorry for the graphic-ness of that!  Could there be some 'grander' connection between hormones and our pain?  That would make a good topic for a chat w/all women sometime...and also it'd be cool to have an expert come to speak, like I dont know, a GYN person or something....anyway...just rambling here.

Well, Ducky I sure hope they've fixed those roads out there!  I can't handle bumps and potholes too well!  Not w/this pain!  But thanks for sharing about that...now I'm warned and can at least pack an extra seat pillow in the van! LOL

Curley, hang in there, you'll get to that appointment w/new rheumy sooner than you think and hopefully he'll be the best one yet.  I sure hope your flare settles down soon.  It must reallllly suck to have both RA and OA!  I do not envy you that joint pain....but will keep you (and all) in my prayers that we're all feelin' better soon!

Thank you everyone for replying and putting up w/my vent!  You're truly the greatest support system I have!

Hey Beth - Glad you are feeling better.. amazing how much our menses can effect our everyday lives huh? So irritating sometimes... Anyway - I haven't been to OK City in over 3 years, so I hope they have fixed the interstates there. I remember I had a surgery done there and had to make the 2 1/2 hour drive back to the town that I lived in and it was torture... I cried all the way home. Do you live in OK now? I used to live in Altus. Was there for 7 years. Anyways- gotta get for now, the race is about to start, let us know how you are doing... - Duck
