hey ya'll!! ive been put on 20mg aciphex for about a month now and when i wake up i feel emptiness in my stomach, but i feel so acidy. (hope you understand where im coming from). and whenever i get really hungry i start feeling emptiness again and it gets kind of difficult to breath. also...my chest always feels heavy (like theres pressure) or something, but again it feels acidy and empty. and for about 2 weeks my throat stings and aches. like now...sometimes i have to snort when i breath and i have no idea why. could it be the aciphex symptoms? or are these clear proven signs of gerd? at first it was working really really REALLY well for me...now it just seems like im going down hill. i also have some anxiety issues...my bf left for vacation a week ago. could this possibly trigger it?
Yep, those sound like GERD symptoms to me. I have the same symptoms and I have been on 40mg Nexium for about 7 weeks now. It is a little bit better than in the beginning but I still feel acidic sometimes, especially in the middle of the night, morning and late evening. You might need a stronger dose of Aciphex or you might have to give it more time like my doc tells me. He said it could take 3 months to feel the full effect of the Nexium. So, I have about a month and a half to go.
I also have IBS-D and a hiatal hernia so I have anxiety issues, too and it DOES make the acid worse!! My stomach produces ALOT MORE acid when I'm anxious, which is everyday!! So, yea, I believe anxiety plays a huge part in acid production.

i have acid reflex and hernia and i been on prevacid which i been paying foe cuz um on disability i have tried protonix, nexium- diarrhea and prilosec just didnt work! i neva heard of this med and wondering how well it works and will my insurance cover it?
