i think i am allergic to cedar wood chips because my husband was drilling cedar wood and when i came into the area my airway tightened up and i started coughing. that was 9 hours ago and i still feel this way. if it is worse tomorrow i'll go to the dr. i did a search online and it's a pretty common allergy. but does anyone here know anything about it and if so, can you share with me what you know and what you think i should do. thanks.
Do you have asthma? I've never heard of this allergy but I guess anything is possible. I suspect it might of been the dust of the cedar that is irritating your lungs. At anytime you feel your airway tighten you should seek immediate medical assistance because that is usually the first sign of anaphalatic (sp?) shock. Most people don't realize how serious this can be until it's too late. I think in the future you should be careful when the your hubby starts drilling. Benedryl is a good OTC medicine to take with allergic reactions.......I personally don't like the stuff because it makes me drowsy but it has helped my children in the past with their allergic reactions to things.
i took benadryl before going to bed and i slept ok but felt achey all over. this morning i am coughing up yellow mucous. so i think now i have a chest cold or bronchitis. (i've never had asthma before that i know of.)
Stay away from Ceder.
