Hello Phyllis where do I begin. I don't want to be fat. I remember as a little girl I was 11 years of age and I lived in Perris Ca. I was walking down my steet which was called Springtree Dr. I was wearing a hot pink one piece bathing suit and remember looking down and thinking I am fat. Then as I got older my aunts would always tell me oh Katharine you wont be skinny forever just wait until you get older and have kids, so that scared the hell out of me. And well there is now where I really don't have an appitite I can go at least 4 days without food and maybe barely a swig os soda or water. Food is not a priority to me ! All it does is hurt me one way or the other, I have IBS so when I eat things my stomache will hurt and I will be in the bathroom all night and day, so if it hurts me why do it?
Hi gemgirl, You need to make eating healty foods a priority with you. Even if you are not hungry your body still needs something to give it energy, which in the long run may even help the depression. There are so many foods you can eat that do not cause weight gain. Talk to your T. and see if they can suggest someone who does not charge a arm and a leg. I am so familiar to the feelings of not being hungry and going 4 - 5 days with out eating, but I am a sodaholic and can not go with out my soda. Usually after not eathing for 3 or 4 days I remember that I have not eaten, my mood is way down and I snap or cry for no reason at all. They say to eat a small snack or meal 6 times a day in order for your body to have something to give you energy. Part of the problem is since you hardly eat when you do it goes right thru you system, which means ending up in the bathroom all the time. Start eating small amounts and eventually your stomach will become used to the food and you will not have to dash off to the bathroom all the time. you have to let you whole system get used to getting small portions and you will be surprised how much better you will feel. I am not sure what type of foods you can eat with your other problems but any kind of vegetable that you can steam is very non fattening and has a lot of nutrients you body needs, and you definitely need more fluids even if it's just water. There is a drink (in the baby section) called pedelite (not sure of the spelling) that would be so much better than just water. The taste is not all that great, it tastes lite watered down kool aid - at least the grape flavor does.
You have to take care of your self, body and spirit before you will start to see any changes but it is well worth it.
Hugs
Phyllis

Gemgirl, just so you know I can help people by talking but wish I could practice what I preach.
