Any suggestions?

Hello Everyone! I'am a 45 year old female and last year as I was seating at my desk at work I got this lightning bolt sensation in my head. It made me close my eyes and it hurt very much for a couple of minutes.. I felt sick, but took a break and then continued my work. A month later I woke up on a Saturday and my right leg was hurting and tingling, burning and my toes curling. When I get up in the morning I can hardly walk on my right leg and limp. I had tingling and burning in my right arm and have had severe headaches. Had a CAT scan and they said I have three lesions-small ones.. Spinal tap was negative for MS. I starting getting like electric shocks in my head.. I thought I was going crazy...Went to a neurologist and he put me on Gabritial, Zorloft and Relpax for headaches.. I was out of work for months trying to make sense of all of this.. Pain was bad and I was sent to Duke Medical Center where they said my doctor was doing everything right.. and stick with him.. They can give me no reason why this is happening. Then my left hand starting to terrible. so he put me on Mirpex. it works.. Lately I have been not sleeping well (i also have Sleep Apena) so he prescibed Xyrem solution to drink at bedtime. It makes me sleep but no able to drive to well in the morning.. Now since last week the right side of my body is numb, tingling and burning and my toes are curling alot at night.. during the day i have trouble walking on my right foot. Its worse when I take my shoes off. I had some blood done and my total cholestroel (spelled wrong) is 388 and my glucose is 145. I ask my boss if they could find a way to make it easier for me to get into our building, it has no access for me when i have trouble walking up the stairs... i almost fell last week. I returned to work 4 days in Feb., then they started putting pressure on me to return full time.. so now I work 2 full weeks and have 2 four day weeks. and sometimes i can't make the full week.. I have a appointment with another neurologist because I want to find out what the heck is wrong with and get this fixed somehow.. Any suggestions..Please help.. Tressa
Tressa,
Welcome! How frustrating it must be for you.

I think you're doing the right thing by seeing a neurologist. I'd be insistent, too. If neuro #1 is unsure of dx, I request 2nd opinion. Your symptoms are not common ones for Parkinson's disease, but ... who knows. I'm not familiar with diseases/conditions that typically include the symptoms you are having. I certainly hope the neuros can find something that helps address your symptoms.

Hi Tressa and Welcome to HealingWell! tongue

I think lizzy is right - continue to persue this with your neurologist and as you already have done once, by going to Duke and getting a second opinion that was a great thing to do - don't hesitate to try another!!

Perhaps you may have a combination of things going on.

I wish you the all the best and hope they are able to figure out what is going on soon!

Hugs, Teri tongue
