Hi everyone, I am new to the board. I have IBS for over 30 years. it was better for years but now is back again, frequent bathroom visits, pain, bloating, you name it even waking me at night.
I am getting a fluttering in my stomach and intestines and have noticed that I get a skipped heart beat when this happens. I have read where gas can cause palps but want to see if anyone else this.
I just had a echo done and everything was in normal limits, I have mitral reguratation but have that for years.

Yep, sounds very much like gas to me. I get the flutters all the time where you can just feel the gas moving around. I kind of think it feels like when I was pregnant and I would get those little movements from my son. It was probably gas then too :) I'm glad your echo turned out okay. Palps can occur with IBS and they can occur with anxiety too both of which I have so I know the feeling.

I get skipped beats (PVC's) all the time. Mine started years ago before the IBS. I also suffer from anxiety and Mitral Valve Prolapse. Anytime I get nervous (which is ALOT) I get the skipped beats. Even thinking of going to the bathroom (and the anxiety over whats gonna come out) will bring them on.
