I get bits (fragments) caught up in my head. Like my cat meowing or this guy that constantly reves up his car/truck. After some time has passed, I hear those sounds and there is no cat arount or he is right beside me but not meowing. Or I hear the guys car being reved up for 3 hours. I even went outside and there was no body outside but I could clearly hear that sound.
I have read about people that get songs caught up there head, but never fragment of sound.

There is such a thing as an auditory hallucination. It's not all that uncommon in a manic phase. Some people see things others hear things, with me its scent. I smell smoke or gas etc. Usually something that will send me straight into a panic attack. You might ask your pdoc about it. Your meds might need tweeking.

Ellie I get the smell thing too. Although it tends to be a sickly smell which noone else gets.

I told my pdoc at my last appt (emergency one) about my auditory and visual hallucinations. I have always had these but never told anyone until then (not even my husband). They were happening mostly at night. Fragments, sounds, conversations - previously and future ones that I had though of, weird feelings (like the cat jumping on the bed and there be no cat) and the one really creepy face/mask thing that jumped out at me - things like that keeping me from getting to sleep. Xanax wasn't really working that well unless I took a lot and my script is for the lowest dose. He gave me Seroquel to help me sleep. But today, in the middle of the day, the car thing was going on for a long time. It really freaked me out.
My pdoc told me that we would just monitor it for now.
I plan on talking with him about it at my appt on Monday.

I've only had visual and auditory when they gave me tofranil back in the late eighties. Sent me into a full blown manic phase. If it gets bad don't hesitate to give your doc a call. Thats what he gets paid for. I know that has to be really scary.

I've had the auditory sounds...the cat meowing when the cat's outside and can't be heard...and high frequency ringing or cricket sounds. Does Seroquil REALLY help with sleeping?? I just started it last Tuesday - 50mg with 200mg Zoloft - still not sleeping but 2-3 hours a night. I'm up all night with these crickets in my ears! What the hey??
