Blood sugar too low ?

While I am not a diabetic I have noticed that my blood sugar is extremely low.
 
When I take reading first thing on mornings the meter read around 53.
I took a reading again  an hour or so after diner and it read 79 . Is this reading normal or too low ?
 
 (The meter says that the reading should be  between 80 and 120 on mornings)
 
I know that the meter is not defective for I  normally use it to monitor my Moms sugar level  and it works well  enough. ( she is a diabetic)

Your morning reading is too low.  Your after dinner reading is okay for any other time of the day, but I think that it's too low for an hour after dinner.  Blood sugar levels are usually somewhat elevated for a few hours after eating, so 79 seems to be too low, too quick. 

My guess is that you may have hypoglycemia which in some senses is the opposite of diabetes, but is still related to pancreatic malfunction.  My suggestion is that you reaserch hypoglycemia on the internet and see if you have the symptoms of hypoglycemia as well as the blood glucose readings to go with it.
