Has anybody ever had this. Under my left arm (where the cancer was found and the lymph nodes removed) I am having a burning pain like sensation. Deep in my arm pit. It is not the nerves healing pain or soreness. And it is not all the time. I was trying to figure out if it could be like scar tissue or perhaps something simple. My arm is not swollen at all and there is no rhyme or reason to it.
Hi, Annette! I had a similar experience, but not in the arm pit. Through the chest area, where my breast should have been, but have no feeling in the reconstruction, so... turned out to be a pinched nerve that was the culprit. Where the pain is depends on which nerve is pinched, so I'm sure you could have pain in the arm pit as well.
Hope that is all it is. (I hate hoping for things like that! Like that wouldn't be bad enough! But at least it's not "the cancer.")
BTW...my arm pit itched FURIOUSLY for a few months before I was diagnosed. Haven't had itchy pits since. Anybody else?

Thanks for the input. I am seeing my regular doctor tomorrow. I feel like I need a full bone scan again (been a couple years) to make sure there are no hot spots anywhere.

Annette, I would not call the sensation I have "burning" but rather a stiff soreness or tugging sensation from time to time where the node incision was made in the arm pit. I have intermitent cramping in the chest under the breast that I have been told is radiation damage to the muscles. Always a reminder. Hope this helps. Hugs, Lauri

Annette, have you been to the dr yet? I haven't had a distinct pain sensation in the armpit but I certainly have it in other places. I also suffer from itching, it sucks. We certainly need to revamp the brochure.
Yes I have. I have to get a full set of x-rays to see what is happening there. He put me on some pills but they make me loopy during the day and that is not good for tax returns. Or maybe it is.
hey Ijust joined the site and I hope everything turns out find for you,I was just wondering about something about three years ago the doctor found a lump in my breast and I had a biopy but it was just calification now there is two sis in the same breast and she said something about on the lympe note she wants to see me again in three months I'm not sure what that means are if I should have another optoin,what do you think,there is no one in my family that ever had breast cancer so that makes me feel better,thanks
