Hi Ashley
I began on Celexa 20 mg and was bumped down to 10mg as it made me irritable. That said, I am also on Seroquel and Lithium as mood stabilizers-I would never be on Celexa without them, as it would cause a cycle into mania/hypomania. I love it-it keeps the depresssion away-that said, the Seroquel also seems to help in that dept. , although not proven to my knowledge. Everyone is different Ashley, and you may love it or hate it based on your chemistry. Best thing to do is try it and see your Doc if you go downhill -I know, it is such a guinea pig science. But when it works, it is beautiful! I hope it works for you as it has for me and your Grandma!
Best Wishes!

update:
Turns out the Celexa I praise may be causing some troubles I attributed to other things. My pdoc and I are contemplating switching me to Lamictal for depression. Antidepressants such as Celexa are controversial for Bipolars, that was always known in my case. Guess we'll have to see. So if you do try it, just be sure to keep track of your moods, etc. Or consider something like Lamictal right off the start...
Keep us posted,
