My dietician and diabetic counselor feels that 1/4 tsp of cinnamon daily is showing great promise in treating diabetes. I know there are two kinds of cinnamon - cassia and true cinnamon. But has anyone out there had any experience with its use? Did it help? How long did you take it before you saw results? Any reactions such as intestinal or rashes?
J,
I put it on my oatmeal or on my toast in the morning. Sometimes I use it in my coffee or tea. I have been taking all of my regular meds along with it so I don't know how much it's helping. I just figure every little bit helps and use it. 1/4 tsp is not very much cinnamon so I don't really think you should have any problems unless you have tree allergies.
My daughter is allergic to trees and can't have cinnamon, allspice or maple syrup... But it's ok because she hates them all anyway!
