I have been suffering with this for two years now. I have noticed it comes and goes in severity. For example, I stopped taking meds on June 23 and was having minimal symptoms until 3 weeks ago. What triggers it? I have no clue!! I am due to start back on meds tonight. I just wonder if all this stopping and starting of our stomach acid is good for us? It just does not seem normal to me. I did feel better this week when I had eggs, meat, and cheese for breakfast...per the low carb diet. Right now I feel really bad....had an eggo and syrup.....extremely high carb. Not too bright, huh?
We all have trouble avoiding the bad stuff Hearty, so don't be too hard on yourself! I think our bodies are always in a state of flux........especially us females. I have fibromyalgia and can never predict when I'm going to feel good, or when I'm going to feel awful. I have tried for years to try to figure it all out, and have it make sense, but it just doesn't! I think our menstrual cycles cause a lot of inconsistencies in our bodies. Do you think your reflux is related to your cycle?
I don't know if the stopping/starting of the stomach acid is bad for us. But for me, whenever I would stop the med, I would get rebound acid production, which was horrible. But it would improve alot within a week, if I just waited it out. I think when our acid-producing cells get "put to sleep", and then they're allowed to wake up, they go crazy for awhile. Maybe your's just woke up!?
