constant noises

hi there, i am 17 years old and i have been suffering from what i think is IBS for a long time now. it makes it extremely hard to concentrate in school and many times i do not attend because of the constant noises that my stomach makes. i also have D a lot and a lot of gas. i have been to a GI and he said that it is most likely IBS, and had given me a sample of Nulev, which didnt really help all that much. i was just wondering if anyone had anymore advice, or names of possible medications that could help me. my IBS puts a lot of pressure on me and i dread quiet rooms. your help would be much appreciated! thanks! ~Mon

Hi Monica,

Welcome to HealingWell!  :-)

Have you tried taking any anti-gas OTC meds?  Beano and Gas-X work pretty well for those noises.  You can also try taking calcium.  Calcium will help with the D and the noises.

Hi Monica,
Welcome to the site :)
I agree with Lil, you may want to take some antigas meds. You also may want to ask your doctor about trying you on a different antispasmodic besides Nulev. I also was put on Nulev and although it helped a bit it didn't do a lot for me. I'm on a different one now and much better. Everyone is different on different types of meds.
Take Care
