I get that and it feels like I'm in a dream state. Concentration is not possible when I am going through this. I feel real numb and my vision gets kind of blurry. I'm sure you will get other responses with other symptoms but I hope this helps a little.

hey this part of anxiety is the most intense and scariest but it will pass i felt like i was out of my body like lookinat myself also blurred vision wicked deja vu and everyone seemed like strangers but it passes good luck try not to dwell on it
I have it pretty much 24-7 these days due to benzo withdrawal. It gets worse under fluorescent lights, and that seesm to be the case with many people. So, if you have the option of using another type of lighting at home, you might want to think about that.
It feels like I'm either not there, not real, or that I'm the only thing that's real and nothing around me is real, or that I've stepped into some sort of false dream or cartoon world. It was very scary at first, but I made myself deliberately feel it by sitting in front of a SAD light box, as exposure therapy, and seeing that it couldn't hurt me at all.
Now when it hits I just keep doing whatever I'm doing and ignore it, and it goes away in a few minutes.
Like Leftie says, the less you dwell on it, the less it will bother you.

Yeah, I am in class for 3 hours twice a week and they are bright bright flourscent lamps and it wears me out. I end up having bad DP/DR by the end of class.

hello everyone, I think that I experience this. Im not really sure though, sometimes I feel kinda spacey and it freaks me out and I feel like Im going to pass out or something, is that what this feels like? and sometimes when Im in the store I feel that way I think it may be the light cause I feel like my eyes are really sensitive to them and I feel like if the lights were dimmed or something I wouldnt feel that way??? what causes that anyways?

Strange... I started feeling this when I was 12 years old and thought I was going crazy and everything seemed surreal.
Now I've been suffering with this feeling for over 8 years on and off.
I wish the feeling would go away.
Last night I was driving and I was staring up at the trees and everything in the world felt so fake and then I started panicking while driving and just tried to "snap out of it".
I hate the sensation of it. I stare at myself in the mirror and feel like I don't know who I am at times.
When I was younger I couldn't even look in a mirror because it didn't feel like me at all. I felt so out of body, like I was staring at a stranger.

For myself when that happens I feel very spacey and out of and I get something like tunnel vision and everything looks strange. It's pretty common for anxiety sufferers.

I used to feel like that when I was going through some traumatic experiences when I was young. I felt like everything was a dream. I felt dazed and dizzy and felt like I could wake up at any moment. Sometimes, I even thought to myself....omg, what is going on here? why is this happening to me? I also loose the sensation and feel so distant from everythign around me.
Now I experience this when I have panic attacks.

Wow, Twiggygal, you describe how I feel perfectly. I have been on about a month run of feeling that way now. :(

*hugs* Mingmalefactor- it's an awful feeling.
Sometimes I feel lost hehe...
sometimes I'll be driving and some scary incident will occur where someone almost hit me, and I'll think, did I really just die and am in some other world right now? LOL
That's how out of body I get sometimes.
