Diabeticine is a mixture of many herbal remedies that do have some blood sugar lower abilities, the major one which is cinnamon. None of these herbs have definative studies behind them for toxicity, prolonged use, contraindications and drug crossover reactions. Also, the herbs effectiveness can be altered by growing conditions, drought and/or rainfall, contaminated by collection process and have a host of other problems. For myself I'm all about using cinnamon on my toast and french toast to help lower my post-breakfast peaks but I take my glucophage, advandia and Lantus to keep my sugars between 89 and 130. Those are numbers I can live with.
After much intense study and responsible thought I have chosen to work with traditional medications. I have a background in nursing, anatomy, physiology, bacteriolgy and chemistry. I have my own eyesight, limbs and heart to consider in this battle with my blood sugar and I prefer to use the heavy artillery to keep the enemy at bay. You may decide otherwise but having sugars under 150 is only a start for you and medications may be the only way to achieve this goal. Hope this helps.

I don't want to step on anyone's toes here, but I wonder why your spouse (and not you) is making the decisions about your diabetic control. If, perchance, she has bought the wrong book and is mistaken about the insulin, she is not the one who will suffer the long term effects of prolonged elevated sugars.
I would honestly ask you to do some of your own research on insulin to make an informed decision. I also strongly advise you to get a second opinion or to see an endocrinologist about your insulin/sugar needs. When all is said and done I generally put my money on the person with all the diplomas on the wall. Just my 2¢ so please don't take offense.

In the game of life,
I'm not here to argue either... but you need to know something. Diabeticine is a pharmaceutical, just not a FDA approved one. All of the ingredients in it have side effects, just like prescribed meds... and to me it makes no sense to pay all that money for something that only works half way. I suspect that your weight loss program and better eating has more to do with your numbers than the herbal remedy you're using. There are lots of things you can do to improve your blood sugars including carb counting, exercise, medication, lowering stress levels, weight loss, herbals, increased fiber and a bunch of other things that I forgot... Some of them work very well and some not so well but the ultimate goal is low numbers NOW! Not working toward, not getting lower- but low now! because numbers over 150 more than two hours after a meal are causing permanent damage to your kidneys, eyes, fingers and toes... Damage that can't be undone... That's why I use the prescribed medical approach. I value my eyesight and prefer to keep my feet.
I sometimes feel that if an unscrupulous person was secretly selling metformin under the fake name DiabeteStop we'd have people shouting "Magic Pill" from the housetops! What is so alluring about a 'secret formula' that means less meds? It's still a medicine... just not a prescribed one! Sorry... but I feel that you are being taken advantage of and in the long run you will be unable to fix the damage that your choices may invoke. Just my 2¢... I guess I have to repeat this for newbies every so often. Type 2 diabetes is NOT as simplistic as you make it out to be. When I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes I was at 5.8% body fat and doing 250 situps a day with 50 lbs. of weight on my chest. My BP was 100 over 60 and my resting pulse rate was in the low 60's. Hardy fits the profile you are describing does it!
I have a major problem with diabeticine as its primary component, or the one that is in the greatest concentration is "chromium". Chromium doesn't flush from the body like most vitamins, but stores there for the long term, so the doses you get are additive! Chromium is toxic. It will make your hair fall out, give you cancer, cause liver failure, etc. etc. etc.
Why in the world would you take anything that had significant amounts of Chromium in it? The FDA has indicted the makers of Diabeticine for false advertising and I think that if you want to try herbs, etc as a supplement to whatever else you are doing to try and control your diabetes, you are better off simply doing some research and going to the health food store than you are buying this garbage at a really exhoribtant price!

I get my chromium from my multi-vitamin, which has 150 mg, it is the Wal-Mart brand similar to Centrum Silver.
I think the originally poster said "no agruments". Not everybody is afraid to try new things to help with the disease.
I am not against herbal medication but it should be studied on people just like medications since they are powerful medications ie;foxglove=digoxin powerful heart medication, but also very deadly even in very small amounts.
My daughter was diagnosed 3 years ago with IDDM, and naturally I am looking into ALL possibilities yet some of these advertisements insults my inteligence. As I have pointed out above how come nobody came forward (with proof) who is "cured"?
For type 2 diabetes I am all for weight reduction, diet herbal supplement that helps insulin sensitivity, but for type 1 I am vary to try this since ( I do believe that some of the ingredient "lower blood glucose" by binding to glucose) my daughter's "synthetic" insulin can make no distinction on sugar level. Even if the available sugar is less it will bind to something and that can cause life threatening lows. Also, my daughter can NOT afford to loose any weight what these products are advertising to do. If there is a person out there who has been " cured" by these medications please make yourself available so we can learn.
