Hmmm this is something I didn't expect. Remember the mammogram I had on Monday and saw the pictures and thought they looked good? NOT! I got the dreaded letter today to come back. Made an appointment for next Monday morning. I called Jo-Ann and she reminded me of her friend who always says, "Don't worry until you know you have something to worry about!" LOL What goes around comes around. I am not really worried because it wouldn't help a thing to worry. I just have all these little nagging questions in the back of my mind. I had the reconstruction before so I wouldn't be lopsided, so if I need another mastectomy what do I do? Wonder if I will finally "get" to experience chemo after all these years of feeling I got off lucky. So if you all can bring the PCE to TX Monday I would like to have you by my side. At least I can offer decent weather. Hugs, MK

But, if it was something that they were really, really worried about, wouldn't they have called you to come in immediately? I agree with Jo-Ann, don't worry until you have something to worry about. Hey, we are all here with you. Whatever it is you need, we'll make sure you get. Plan on me being on board Mon and being there.

I am sorry to hear you have to have further images taken but don't put the cart before the horse here. I know I've heard that same wise woman that Jo Ann knows say "..not to worry until there is something to worry about" so please take our friend's advice. She is very smart!
I agree with Deb that if it were really something suspicious they would have called you in. Maybe they forgot they were dealing with a reconstructed breast! I've heard of them making stupider (is that a word?) mistakes than that. Let's hope for stupidity to be the culprit here!

MK, I am ready for a trip to Texas around now, as our temps go UP to the 40's on Saturday.... but really, it may be nothing more than a blurred image if you breathed when they told you not to. At U of M, we sit in a waiting room until the doc is satisfied, and usually do have to go back in for cleaner shots. And as someone once said, don't worry until you have something to worry about...

Thank you all. I knew I could count on you to lift my spirits. The tech and I looked at the films and even compared them with last year, but I was looking for calcification clusters. I didn't see any at all. So this must be a shadowy thing, and it is possible I did not hold my breath real well on the first shot. Oh well, Monday is not far off. And actually, the letter was pretty fast getting here. I just had mammo on Monday and this is Thursday. Eight years ago they called and called for over a week before finally sending a letter. They were calling my home when I was at work and we did not have caller ID or answering machine so I never knew they were calling. LOL. Really I am NOT worrying, just thinking out loud. MK: Someone said that maybe they forgot that they were working with a reconstructed breast. I had to laugh. A friend of mine that had a double mastectomy 3 yo called today and said that she got a reminder letter telling her it was time for her yearly mammo. Since she had gotten one of these letters for the past 3 yrs and called and told them the circumstances, she said that she was tired of being nice. She called them today and said, "Honey, you just go right ahead and schedule that mammo. And, as soon as you find what they did with my boobs after the surgeon cut them off, you just x-ray away." And hung the phone up! Needless to say, the gal was shocked. Looked at my friend's records and called her and apologized!

What is happening this week with mammogram's. I had mine on Tuesday, stayed around and they did more shots, etc. Then went on to the oncologist and he said everything feels normal. Well yesterday I get a message from the onc nurse saying they need me back for more tests. I called today to see what kind of tests and she said more pictures as they saw something. When I told her they did take more pictures after they "saw something", she said they are still not satisfied and want me back. Then today the Doc himself calls my home and leaves a message and calle me at work and says we need you back down here as soon as possible. Now I am worried.
Hang in there, yours will turn out ok and so will mine. What they are seeing on mine is on the same side as I had surgery and that I WILL be having removed and reconstructed as soon as we get our grandbaby and I can get it scheduled. I told the Doc today, I can not have anything done before the baby comes. LOL

OH Gees Kitty!!! Guess we will go through this together, whatever it is we have to go through. Well, I can say that although I hate to share this kind of thing, I couldn't share with anyone any nicer. And you have a baby coming, too? Our great grand baby was born early and has some problems. The past couple of weeks have been kind of rough, but at least the wedding went beautifully, thank heavens. My grand daughter has been Mrs. Fox for a whole week now. I will keep you in my prayers, Kitty, that your news is not bad.
And Debbi it was not the reconstructed breast, it was the other one. I had a benign lump removed from this breast back in 1967 and nothing since. The color of the skin has changed some and the doctor even asked me about it during my physical, so I am wondering what that might have to do with seeing something on the films???? Oh well, time will tell.
My very best friend from Ohio is coming on the 7th for two weeks. Plans were made several months ago...... if I have to have surgery again, maybe there is a reason she is going to be here? Now that sounds like I am really worrying, I am not, but I am thinking it will be nice if she is here to laugh and joke with me.

Yikes, MK, I will definitely be there with you. Just remember what you always tell all of us. Hopefully, this will turn out a-okay. Don't be thinking about chemotherapy just yet, thank you. We'll cross that bridge IF we come to it.

I know that each one of us has done this, at one time or another, since our diagnosis. It's human and, contrary to what we think of ourselves, we are not superwomen. I haven't been a member here very long nor have I had the privilege of meeting you, but I can tell from reading your posts and all of the posts sent to you, that you are a remarkable, compassionate woman. I don't believe that God will want you to take on more so that someone else won't have to. He is there to help you thru this as are the rest of us. We just don't have the power that he has. :)
Remember what you tell all of us....stay busy, laugh lots, and try not to worry until there is something to worry about.
