Does anyone find when you are in emotional distress...

Does anyone here find during emotional distress that the twitch, spasm or have jerks.  When I get tired or emotionally upset I have some jerks.  I have mentioned it to my neuro and he said it is hard to tell whether these are myoclonic seizures, or just the normal everyday spasm.  I just wanted to see if any of you found that emotions can spark this.  THis was a discussion on another board I am on and found it very interesting.  They don't bother me.  Hope you all are feeling good can't wait to see you all in chat one night soon! Hey tracy, My son does have lots of jerks if he is sleep deprived, It usually takes a few days to show up. By this I mean that after a few days of too little sleep he will have a large increase in myoclonus (muscle twitching)....

I have times of this, too, and do not have an E diagnosis. Mine may be a neuro thing from the other conditions I have. They are fairly mild for me.

My Daughter has real myoclonic jerks that we know are seizures. Hers do get worse with stress or sleep deprivation, or if she skips meds.

It can be hard to tell whether it is seizure myoclonics or myoclonus and a muscle twitch. GOod to make note of it. Maybe it can be a warning, when you have them you need to see what you can do to relax or try some stress reduction things....

Hang in there Tracy! How is school?

I seem to have more jerks at night than during the day.  I don't know if they are fatigue related or not but they seem to be since they are more pronounced at night.  I didn't know you were having jerks, when did they start?  ((Hugs))

YES.  High stress and/or extreme emotions trigger myoclonic jerks in my wife without doubt.  They are not normal spasms.
Yes, after having a pretty mean seizure on Friday night, I caught a few jerks the past few days. I haven't been fully diagnosed with "E" yet, but the doctors definetly say I am having seizures.
