Hi guys, I posted a couple of weeks back after being recently diagnosed and staring a course of prozac. I'm happy to say that it seems to be finally working and i am slowly starting to feel like myelf again. My emotions are now under control, no suicidal thoughts or self-harming inclinations, my mental faculties are returning and although sometimes i digress, i am alot more optimistic and better at dealing with situations that previously would have upset me.
Although i know i'm knowhere near 'better', I guess i wanted to post this just to show for people just starting meds and wondering if there going to work, or thinking about not taking them that they can and will work and that you have to stick with it. I know when your down you can't imagine how you can feel 'normal' again, but it is possible and it will happen if you keep trying.
I hope you will find the comfort and care here as a lot of us have. It's the best site and everyone is wonderful. Read the posts from back a few weeks and lean a lot. Look for a lot of support.
"Lefty"
There is no such word as can't. Can't simply means wouln't. Grab as much as life as you can. Future is a long way away for those who don't believe. Don't build a foundation of life on sand. It will take it away with the tide. Love a little more, be unkind a lot less.
after 9 days of prozac ive never felt so depressed( its not like me to feel this low) did this happen to you? i felt fine before i took them. just wanted alittle help i hope what you say is true thanks
