Variety is the spice of life, BP is the key
Jennifer, have a question about links. Rules say no links, but you say they are fine. Can you tell me why?

I am not jennifer, but here are the official rules on that subject

Flopsie,
I haven't been around in a few days, but wanted to say hello and wish you well on your serach for the right treatment for you.
I was diagnosed BP II and most of my symptoms were very similar to the ones that you mentioned as having experienced. Before I knew much about BP, I always figured that the only manifestation of 'elevated' moods were full-blown manic episodes and didn't think that I was BP. It wasn't until I had done more reading and talked with the pdoc that I realized that hypomania was also a manifestation of BP and that in fact there was an explaination for my erratic behaviour. Although I don't think that I've ever experienced a truly manic episode, the hypomania alone was enough to throw my personal life into a shambles. I've managed to get most of my life in order and am living well with medication, but am thankful that I was finally able to put a name (and a treatment) to this thing that ran my life for so long.
It has been a challenge for me to accept and then articulate my diagnosis to my friends and family. Many of the effects of BP II are so subtle to the outside observer, that it is hard for people to understand the frustration/resentment/anger/etc. that comes with it - only further aggravating the situation.
This is an awesome forum with so many smart and knowledgeable people and hopefully you will find some useful info.
Best of luck,
Putter
