We have gotten ourselves used to skim and now can't handle 2%. At our house we prefer our butter fat in the form of butter on toast and in cooking. I guess it's all in how you juggle the numbers. You might want to look at the numbers yourself and decide.
1/2 cup of skim milk = 45 calories and 6 gm carb 4.2 gm protein (0.2 gm fat)
1/2 cup of 2% = 71 calories 7.5 gm carb and 4.8 gm protein (2.4 gm fat)
1/2 cup of 3.5% (whole, full-fat) 78 calories 6.5 gm. carb and 4.2 gm protein (4 GMS. OF FAT!)

I can understand the feeling watching sports... and if you're with your friends having a few snacks and sitting on the couch... that sugar has nowhere to go but up... Let's see... Calesthetics during commercials? Vacuuming the house? (You could get all your household chores done during every game! LOL!)
How about fasting on the day of the game? No carbs on the day of the game? I'm clueless here but wish I could help.

ok you milk addicts!!! 1 cup of milk.....thats not a lot of milk. Look at the serving size on the side of the milk carton. Well...the skim, 1 and 2% milks all carry about 16 grams of sugar PER SERVING!!! thats a whole lotta sugar people!!! Now add the carb values on top of the native sugar and you've just spiked your BS something fierce! I found that making my jello instant pudding was pushing my BS up and I didn't know why as it was sugar free.....but I hadn't counted on the high sugar content of the milk I was using! Soooooooo....I've found a "low carb" milk that has next to no carbs and 2 grams of sugar per serving. Now that I can deal with.
I guess the point is, read the label and think about not only the carb content but also the sugar content and what the combination of them is going to do to you. Especially with something like milk which will convert really quickly into your system!

I can only please one person per day, today is not your day...tomorrow doesn't look good either.
Is that milk lactose free? How does it taste? For myself I have issues with osteoporosis so I'm drinking milk every day.
Question... when you show the carb count do you include the sugars as part of the total carb count?
That's how I do it since they all become carbs in the end...
By the way, I want to thank you for that neet "under the armpit" warming technique for the drawn up insulin! I've been using it faithfully ever since you posted it and silently thank you every time!
