I have not mentioned this before because I did not think it important, but here it is. I have had 4 styes since January. Got another one about 10 days ago. When I woke up this am, it was HUGE and red. Finally got my eye doctor and they saw me last thing this pm. According to my opthamologist (sp!) tears and eye lashes have lots of bacteria and eyes lids have about 40 glands im them. When a gland clogs, you get a stye. My immune system has been compromised since January causing all these styes. He told me to use hot compresses, followed by massage, followed by the prescription he gave me. Please don't anyone suffer with this problem as I have.

JuJU, funny you should mention these. I have sjogrens (do not produce tears). So, along with having no eyelashes, I have no tears to protect the eye. It has been horrible this past week pollen wise. I have an eye doctor appointment today to see if there is anything new to protect my eyes.

Vicky, do you have a Hashimoto's also? My sister, my daughter and I have this thyroid problem and my sister has sjogrens (She is 6 1/2 years out ffrom bc.)
