Hi, I to have depression. Yes I do get down for no apparent reason. Sometimes it just slaps me in the face. The meds I take are helpful, but that doesnt mean I dont get down here and there. Its too bad your son is breaking up with a girl you really like. Sometimes you dont have control what someone else does. I believe you will adore whoever your son chooses to spend his life with. Hope you feel better soon.

I'm having adown day today. I have reallt good days and then sometimes have days where I just feel really down and fed up.
I can understand your concerns about your son and his girlfriend but he obviousley has his reasons for wanting to break off their relationship. It is hard on you, i can relae to that as I have been with my boyfriend 5 years and me and his mum are extremely close.
Its is probably your depression as you say making you feel like this. Its probably just a bad days and hopefully you will wake up tomorrow and feel better.
Take care

Hi Aurora, Welcome to Healing Well forum, we are happy to have you. I have a little story about this, when I was 18 I dated a guy for about a year. He was my "first love" and I did get close to his family, even though my mom didn’t care for him all that much. She says I am a "bum magnet"...lol! Anyway, we broke up as the relationship really wasn’t a very good and his family wasn’t aware of everything that was going on within it. His mom and my mom are best friends...weird huh? So, he goes on to get married a few years later and to this day his mother is always saying that he should of married me. She even says this to him...apparently she doesn’t care for his wife, even though they have been married for over 10 years and have 5 kids. Regardless of that, I can’t help but to feel sorry for the girl. She is caught in a situation with his mother competiting for her attention and affection and respect.
