Hi all... lately my fiance has been expressing that he feels really down about everything, especially work and our financial situation. I have been suffering from anxiety for the past 2 months, and this has really taken a toll on him I think. I am starting to get better finally (with the help of therapy), but he seems to be continuing downward... he has told me that my mood has had an affect on him, and because I haven't been happy for a while, that its brought him down as well. I'm not sure what to do about this, does anyone have any suggestions? Maybe from personal experience? What can I say to him to help him feel better before it gets worse?
Thanks so much
ali

I know that this has been said many times but I truly believe it... Men are fixers. If they can't fix you, they may withdraw, get angry, stress, and go into denial. It's not their fault, it stems from the beginning of mankind. My husband is the denial type where he tells me that I just need to change my attitude about life. Well heck, is that the secret LOL :) Anyway, I think that it really hurts your fiance to see you like this and knowing that he can't do anything to change it and it probably is what is causing him to be depressed. He may be feeling that he is not up to the job and that he can't take care of you. You need to assure him that he can. Have you two been out to a nice restaurant lately?
