floroscopic shot for arthritis in the hip

Who has had these shots? How painful are they?
Where was the shot? In a bursa? In a joint?
In the joint. My cartilage is gone and joint is bone on bone. I will eventually need surgery. Just trying to get through the summer first.
I have had the shot 2 time each in both hips . First time lasted about 6 months .
This time it is 8 months . All i can say is wow works so good.
Have been told need new hips but will keep putting it off if this still works for me .
out of 4 shots it hurt one time . The doctor had hard time getting it in the sack.
My hips are gone but its the bursa that gives me all the pain.
Great drug for me .
All i do is phone my doctor and he normaly gets me into hospatal in one week.
Hop it helps you as well as it did me

I highly recommend hip joint replacement surgery. I have had three. Been going for over 24 years. The biggest concern with waiting to long is the risk of loosing blood flow and good solid bone needed to support new shinny hip joint.
Shots never helped me they were excruciating . It takes up to 8-12 months depending on condition to recover from hip joint replacement. While within 6-8 weeks your back to driving and ease into normal daily routine. If your in good muscle shape then recovery will be easier. Waiting to long could make recovery longer.
Whatever you decide sending healing blessings your way.
Good Luck

I had one steroid injection in my right hip (required by insurance before they would replace it). If hard labor was an 8/10, this was more like a 5/10, and it lasted about a minute. It was sore for about 2 days and then the pain relief for me lasted 3 weeks. I had a PRP in the left hip which set up a nice inflammatory response after about two weeks which increased my pain dramatically - which did not go away. I do not recommend these, and there is no evidence that they work anyway - but hey. I have had both hips replaced and I highly recommend it.
