Flying after Angioplasty

Hope all of you are well, it has been a while since I dropped in.

My husband has had Angioplasty in 2003 & 2004, had his bowel removed in June 2004 and had another angogram last week after we returned from a short holiday.

Can flying affect a person with stents and stable angina, cause I cannot think of any other reason why he got breathless and ended up in the hospital a day or so after we got home, he was unwell the whole time we were away from home.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi and Welcome Back Aine2 to HealingWell!! tongue

I'm so sorry to hear of your husband's problems while flying!  I know one of the biggest things that I've heard of is watching for embolisms (clots) while flying/traveling-don't sit too long and to get up and move around as much as you are able.  Plus don't cross your legs...it causes blood to pool and that can cause problems with clotting.

What did the Dr.'s think about his condition and to what did they attribute his problems with SOB (shortness of breath)?

Please let us know how his angiogram turns out~I'm wishing the best!
