Hey Everyone
I have a question for u. Can anyone describe what foot drag is?? I have been tripping over my toes when i shouldn't be...off and on for some time now. I've assumed that was what it was, but thought maybe i'm just being clumsy. It happens mostly in my right foot, but at times in my left foot as well and mostly when i'm tired or having a 'bad day'. It's like when u don't get u'r foot up enuf and trip over u'r toes or stumble a bit. Does anyone know what i'm talking about??
Thanks!
rhonda
Foot drag happens when you don't pick up your foot properly -- the toes don't lift up and move forward properly, and the toe literally drags, tripping you up. Over time, you'll actually see wear on your shoe, indicating the problem. It's easy to trip on the slightest irregular surface, or on the edge of carpeting, or on a threshhold over a door. What you describe does sound like foot drop.
It can happen in either foot, but generally is consistent in one foot (it doesn't switch from side to side, but can occur in either or both feet.)

Hi Rhonda,
I've also been noticing this as well, but only in my left foot and usually just when I'm really tired (which is most of the time, these days.)
Hugs,
Lisa
I noticed my right foot drags when I was getting on the scale at my neuro's office. It was one of those huge floor scales that is only 1/2 inch off the floor and I scraped the top of my second toe because my foot was dragging. When I think back I have done this many times when going up a small step like Uppity described.
