Hello, I was just wondering if anyone else here uses the freestyle mini and if you've had any problems with it. I've been using it for probably around six months and for the most part love it, however recently it's been giving me very inaccurate readings. The first time I noticed it said I was 10 ( 180) but i felt low so i checked again right away and I was actually 2 ( 36). Usually its a difference of 13-7 (234-126) which is also quite a difference. So I've contacted the company and they're sending me a new meter. Has anyone else had a problem like this or did I just get a funky meter?? Thanks, Robyn
I use the freestyle ultra for two reasons. One its one of the top meters on the market and two, and most importantly, the company stands behind their product as you recently found out.

I can only please one person per day, today is not your day...tomorrow doesn't look good either.
I have only been diagnosed with Type II and having to use a meter for four months now - the freestyle. My nutritionist started me on it. I did not appreciate it until I compared it to others that require bigger amounts of blood and painful lancets. Then one night I had a meter crash between my before dinner reading and my after dinner reading. It gave me an error 4 signal. When I looked it up in the handbook, it said to contact the 800 number of the company 24 hours a day. I called them. They said it was an electronic failure, called my local 24 hour pharmacist, located a new monitor and asked me to go pick it up within the hour. They replaced it free and took care of the paperwork with the pharmacist. I didn't miss one test. I was very impressed with a company that would go to such lengths at night even.
Yes, I am very happy with the company too. It just kind of scares me being type one and pregnant that it was giving me such inaccurate readings. I called them on wednesday and should hopefully be receiving my new meter today. I definitely agree that less blood is much much better, I also like how you can test in other places too and that it has a light!
Devine! Hope your readings are much better and your meter is working!

Thank you Jeannie! My due date is April 11, and we know for sure it's a little boy. We have a little girl who is 19 months, so it will be nice to have one of each! I'll make sure I let you all know when he arrives! Robyn
Happy, happy! Joy, joy! A new little bubbikins! So very happy for you. I have a new grandson who is just a month old and I really pray for him and his sibs. BOTH of their grandmothers have diabetes...
so they are all going to have to be super good and careful with their diets as they grow up. You are a smart mommy to design your son's birthday in the spring so you don't have to be pregnant in the summer heat!
