well after waiting nearly 3 weeks to get shoulders done im finally going in tomorrow.
Very scared and ecited, did request to be sadated before they inject them.I feel better in myself just knowing its gonna be done and the treatment acts almost immediatly, lol wish i knew how to spell but im sure you will know wat i mean, will put a post in to tell you how i got on.

Meds: Humira 40mg every 4 days; pred; Pentasa; Imuran; dilaudid; diazepam; Avinza 30mg; MiraLax & too many others.
I have had both shoulders injected, the left one twice. It really helped me. It was not particularly painful. My rheumy has me ice the injected joint for 20 minutes every two hours the rest of that day. Also, he tells me not to use/move the joint the rest of the day. It helps keep the cortisone in the proper place.

thx for your responses .well had shoulders done yesterday, dont think sedation worked as i found it horrendus sobbed all they way through and im not a wimp, as anybody with R A will know.today they just feel bruised and tender so am gonna take it easy as i am off to amsterdam for weekend. i the good side they are not painful and i can wash my hair etc... without being in agony.

awe...i can empathize.the shoulders are quite a painful joint for injections and they do hurt. i cried for 2 days after mine. the injecting part was not as worse as the after days! very very painful, throbbing/stiff and couldn't raise my arms.
keep w/ the ice...it's like the best thing for this type of situation. and rest them as much as possible. have fun in Ammy! (don't have too much fun though! hah!) i'm sure your mini break wil keep your mind off your shoulders! LOL.
