Hi, last May I came down with a scorching case of Glandular fever and contracted Infectious Hepatitis as a result. I just received my latest bloodtest results and my hep count has gone from 476 to 41, which is good news, but I was hoping for a complete `all clear`. I`ve been told there is no need for me to have another test.
However, I was wondering if this hep comes with a letter. I know it`s not B or C, I tested negative for that, and have been assured that I cannot pass the type I have through sex. I`d never have unprotected sex anyway, but do feel a responsibilty to bring the hep to the attention of any future partners I may have. Especially as I haven`t had a `nil` result. Of course refering to the hep as `infectious` is going to wave a red flag at anyone, I`d rather be able to tell people that I had Hep (insert relevent letter) and ensure them that it is not the B or C variety.
So does anyone know, because the woman I spoke to at the sexual health clinic didn`t have a clue, she only really dealt with the more serious cases of Hep.

Hepatitis B and C are the only viruses that are of concern because infection can lead to a chronic disease and liver damage. I don't think you need to tell anyone that you had hepatitis if it was not B or C.
It was most likely hepatitis A; your blood tests would have confirmed this.
