How great for you! Increased muscle mass will use up more glucose and exercise enhances your body's ability to get the glucose into the cells where you need it. No crossed fingers necessary... You're doing this all on your own! KOKO! (Keep on keepin' on!)

Thank you for your reply. I had a 111 today when I got home. I am in massage school and today was practicum I did 3 massages in 3 hours and the last one wanted extreme pressure. I was sweating so bad it was embarrassing lol. But what a work out. I did not get my walk today but TRUST me 3 hours of giving massages and it's like taking 5 or 6 walks.
I guess what I worry about is my ability to keep commited forever to this. I know in my head it is what I HAVE to do I just pray I keep my resolve. I know what the alternatives are and they aren't pretty. Just trying to keep the faith in myself and take it on a day by day bases or I'd feel overwhelmed.
I'm starting to look at the big picture of my lifestyle changes and how they will help me in the long run. I have changed a lot and my readings are showing it so I need to focus on that instead of my small daily failures. I guess what I want to say to all of us is to be kinder to ourselves about how we cope. Diabetes is not for sissies, that's for sure! Take care!

Mostly, i do stick to my diet, but this month was a real bear. My houseguest (sister-in-law) refuses to work, but i hate to throw her out my home. Im dealing with this issue, and still trying to manage my diabetes.
When i screw up, i never beat up on myself, i just start the next day fresh. However, i keep a food journal and make a note to myself to be careful .
Well just an update. It's been a month since my original post and I am doing even better. I am down 15 pounds and my fasting sugar in the morning is running 99-102. My daily readings after meals is anywhere from mid 90s to 110 most days. I think my highest in 2 weeks has been a 121.
I have no problem watching diet and I am trying to incorperate some "normal" people foods lol. My husband had a birthday so I had a piece of his cake with him but I made it a 2x2 inch square peice. It was a treat and I didn't crave more and it didn't raise my sugars. I basically eat low carb and watch calories that cake is the only thing I have had with sugar in it since the 6th of May.
I'm eating good and exercising regular and am very pleased so far with the results.
Wish me luck I have 50 more pounds to lose
CONGRATULATIONS. I love stories like yours.
I thought better it gettin a butt kickin then me so I took it on all in it's face. AHA I WIN!!! For now anyway lol. I know it will never be gone but I will battle on and try to keep it in the basement
Not sure if this will work but I have a progress pic so far cause as a bonus I am looking much better too lol.
I so feel happy to have hope again. I feel I have control of my own destiny for the first time ever.
I'm very happy for you with your great loss. Keep up the good work.
