Its amazing people who have or don't have anyone in their lives who are depressed or going thur depression. The only thing they can say Is you are handicapping the individual, you're doing everthing for them. A friend told me who went thur the whole depression thing with her daughter, try everything, Hell! cry too, take deep breaths, find a support group and start over again. She also reminded me that some suggestions are just plain stupid. Take what your sane mind is telling you is a good idea and try it. My brother is scheduled to go to therapy Monday, I have been praying that he accepts it and goes and opens up about his anger. If he does not open up, I will cry it out my system, take a breather and try it again. I am truly beginning to understand why many people don't discussed depression. I have to give it 100% he is my brother, my blood, my family. If I don't help no one will.
zorna, even if he doesn’t make it to therapy today and you have to start the process of pushing all over again...just know that you are not handicapping him in anyway shape or form. I don’t understand why anyone would believe that, if someone was physically ill and needed the help of others it wouldn’t be called handicapping them..would it? I don’t think so. Yes, depression and mental disorders are still such a double-edged sword.

your daughter is 15, her body and hormones are going wild, in addition to her depression. Wow, Its bad enough we have to go thur puberty, and then something else has to be thrown in the mix. But as you say, we must try, try try again. I will take some of that good luck you wish me and share it with you. Keep me informed of your daughter, I can't do much, but I can listen. Remember we are all in one big boat together.
I like that Idea about the chip injection. But know this you are ahead of the game and you can get to your daughter early. My boat travel is more white water rafting. (Smile) Guess what I can't swim a lick, I seem to still stay afloat. Also don't put your self down, you are not helpless, you are there, you knew the signs and you are doing your best. I wish you and your daughter strength. If you see me in the water please offer a hand. (Smile)
