Headpain getting worse.

Morning. I went to see my psych yesterday explained to him that i was having difficulty sleeping still and migraine headaches. They are mostly very intense first thing in the morning just after waking, and sometimes throughout the day. That in itself i think would put people in a bad mood. Anyway he presricbes trazadone. This morning was the worst for head. Although it knocked me out for the hole night and had some weird dreams. I see him again on march 7 and let him know. I think maybe it time to request another doctor or an brain scan so i can get the proper diagnosis so we can stop this what should we prescribe this week type game. If anyone has some information that might help would be appreciated. Twiggy2
i am also a coffee drinker. Which i usually have one or two cups a day which i don;t that there should be a problem with it, i find that sometimes when i really have a bad headache or migraine i drink a coffee and it seems to help. for me anyway. Does anyone feel this way? Just wondering. Twiggy2
Hi im new here and I joined this website because I was looking for answers about getting a headache only on the right side of my head off and on.  I was reading posts about it and also came upon this post and can relate to the coffee thing.  I was reading that I prolly get my headaches from coffee but sometimes too coffee helps them.  Every time I get this headache on the right side only I think its a sinus problem but am thinking now that it might be my caffeen intake.  Anyone else having this problem?

Don;t know were most of the headpain is actually caused buy but it sure would be nice to find out. I think caffine can cause or sometimes help a least it does for me anyway. I am not sure how others respond to caffine. I have read that in moderate use it can be somwhat good for some people. Anyway keep in touch. If you don;t mind me asking are you taking any meds. I like to ask people new that i meet so i compare with mine. Twiggy2

Most of my head pain is usually in the right side of the brain. I guess if i can discribe it more better it is usually behind the right ear and that area. Anyway don;t know if that is a good discription or not but hopefully so. Have a good night talk soon Twiggy2.
Hi twiggy
Could be a minor infection of the mastoid, or the middle ear, these both could have some relation to your nightmares and headaches, but only guessing from the area you describe,
Coffee can make your headache feel better, but it can very well cause it too, so pref not go running for the coffee, that will keep you awake and then you get more headaches
No harm running this past your Doc
i had fluid on the mastoid and got similar headaches behind the left ear
Thank you for your reponse. Last night while i was on the computer checking things when i got up from the computer desk i had such headpain that it almost put me on the floor. This cannot be good. In fact i scares me. I will see my physch on the 7th of march which thankfully is this tuesday coming i am going to really let him know about this pain and request that i have some sort of brain scan done because it;s getting out of hand and i want to know what is causing this. I am married with two children and cannot take any chances on it being an serious thing. IF anyone would care to share with me some ideas would be great. Thanks Twiggy2.
Hi Twiggy
make a detail list of what you are feeling, ie where exactly the pain is, are there any other area's of pain or discomfort, what you have been eating prior, is there anything different in food you are eating or when the headaches began, have your Husband put a little gentle pressure around the shoulders and neck area and just where the neck meets the skull and see if there are any tender spots, take note of how close you are to your computer screen, there are so many things that can give you headaches and spin's, the list will help the Doctor a great deal, in understanding, and so you don't forget anything
good luck
Hi Ladies-

My headache is always on the right side only. I would say that its behind my eye, kind of in the middle of my head and sometimes I feel pain behind my ear a bit. If I hold under my eye or on my eye lid and put pressure on it it helps it a bit. The sun makes it worse and the computer screen that I have to stare at all day. Sometimes my right eye will start to water a lot and then I start feeling like I have a bad sinus infection that hasnt cleared up-when I went to the Dr. just told me I had allergies. To me, this isnt allergies. Sometimes it kicks in when im out in the wind and all but mostly it will start about 30 minutes after I wake up and not go away ALL day untill I lay down and lay on my left side :(

Heather-
Thanks i started taking 25mgs of ami again this morning i was able to get out of bed easier than i have in the past week since being off of it so i do know that it helps just the little bit that i need to function still not comletely pain free but at least mobile. The head pain that i was having is still present as well off and on but not as severe either. I hope that you all well today Twiggy2
Twiggy-
Your headaches might be responding to caffeine and caffeine withdrawl....try to keep track of how much caffeine you have and when and the correlation to your headaches.

I know a lot of people who start to get a headache/migraine can drink a cup of coffee or a soda and take a tylenol and can put a stop to their migraine quickly...(I am unfortunately not that lucky!!!)

Just a thought...

Thanks for Visiting HealingWell.com

location of the headache really has less to do with the nightmares than taking older anti-depressants...(trazodone, amitriptyline, sinequan) these will generally make you tired, sluggish, gain weight and affect your sleep (ie...NIGHTMARES)

I took trazodone and could not continue because I was continuously dreaming and felt like I was awake all night and not sleeping at all.

Actually "abnormal dreams" is the number one side effect for Prozac...just something to think about

Thanks for Visiting HealingWell.com

Thanks for your reaponses i have stopped taking the trazadone after only taking it once because i felt like crap the next day. Since i stopped taking it my headpain is not as intense. I drink usually only one or two coffee and day and sometimes if i have to i to take a tylenol and it does help to take the headache go away most of the time i think it is the combination between caffeine and tylenol that helps this it sort of like taking a tylenol 2 or three for me anyway some people might react differently. Anyway i hope that i may find the right combo of meds that work. AS i hope for all of my friends here at the forum Good night all Twiggy2
Twiggy here went a walk in clinic to talk about my sore elbow and arm he said that it is in the early stages of carppel tunnel syndrome so he prescribed a elbow brace and he said if continues it will get worse so may be eligble for workers comp. and finally i explained that my anxiety was up so he prescribe me ativan and within 15 minutes it started to work. I only need on occational use as i don not want to become dependent on it. Twiggy
Every time i see my pshcyh he always pushes to ask if im under stress at work and things like that. I always have weel not really askes about my relation ship with hubby etc. our relation is fine better than ever most times who's relationship is perfect? None that i know of. Anyway i explained to him that the children are at each other all of the time so that can cause some stress i guess, so i guess to him all of the stuff is normal to him and sends me on my way with another script and a new appoinment yeah. Some days i would like to tell him to live in my home for a week, work my job for a week and see how much stress he can handle. But i know that wouldn;t be happening. Anyway i hope that this make some sense. I hope that things will get better over time. As for now i have to what i can to stay focused and calm. Twiggy
Hello again, i went to see a pharmasist this afternoon and ask about numbness at night i wake up 2-3 times at night with numbness in both arms headaches and back pain i am going to see my family doc on the 30th of this month to get a diagnosis, the pharmasist said it coulbe be a number of things like diabetes/ or MS. A little frigtnened but try hard not to let it bother me to much as i don't want to over react until i know for sure what this is. Hopefully we will find some answers to i can get treatment.

Twiggy2,

I would love to hear what they say about the arm numbness at night because lately I've been getting that too.  I think I'm just putting pressure on the nerve in my elbows, and the numbness goes away when I change position.  But it didn't used to happen so it seems strange to me.  I also have the back pain which in my case seems to be arthritis.

heatmiser, nice to meet you, mostly i think that is what it is to but i think is is also linked to my chronic headaches as well not sure but i see my family doc on the 30th and going to request tests done as many as he can to find out, I too have back pain. Anyway i will keep posting now and then between now and the 30th it will help me to kinda keep track of how i am doing and stuff Take care and reply back if you'd like.
Hi there,
If I were you I would see a neurologist about these headaches.  I am a physician and new onset of headaches that are worse in the morning is something that definitely needs evaluation (CT or MRI) before just concluding it is a migraine or some other kind of headache.  The trazodone will help you sleep, but will not make the morning headaches go away.  Do see a neurologist.  Best of luck to you.
