Heart and Diabetes; "Some Drugs Should Be Free!"

Some drugs should be free
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/news/fullstory_25866.html

"Specifically, researchers found a group of medicines called ACE inhibitors should be available at no cost to the 8 million Americans over age 65 who have diabetes. The scientists said those drugs are so beneficial, even giving them away would save society large amounts of money by preventing heart attacks, strokes and kidney failure."

"Free Ace Inhibitors for Diabetics Could Cut Costs"
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/news/fullstory_25833.html

"In the US, Medicare could save money by covering the full cost of providing people with diabetes with drugs called angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, according to a new report. ACE inhibitors prevent expensive complications, but patients' out-of-pocket costs for the drugs pose a barrier, the investigators explain."
