I don't think that anyone reading this thought for one moment that they or a loved one would someday be reading this and actually responding to these threads re Heart Disease!?

I'm here because my heart disease is a state secret :P , at least locally. This is because I'm in business for myself and it would be like shooting myself in the foot if people knew about it. My close friends and of course family know about it, but it's really not talked about too much at all, and not wanting to upset anybody, if asked I usually say I'm fine - unless I have the flu, then I can whine all I want lol!
I once went to a women's heart support group locally, but it was a really strange experience. I felt like I had nothing in common with them
ROFL and it so happened that there were 6 cardio nurses in attendance, which was a little unsettling 
, but then the person who was heading the group happened to be a cardio nurse, so that somewhat explained it, but still....
In any case, I was very uncomfortable sharing in person, which is interesting because I never feel that way online. I feel that I can talk honestly here to people who understand, and learn from our shared experiences, give and receive support, and without the emotional baggage that there is when talking to family and close friends - and none of them have heart disease, and all of us do... I probably wouldn't talk to anyone about it if I didn't talk to you guys!

You are not alone, Oona!! I think a lot of us find ourselves here, as it is much easier to share and ask questions where we feel safer. I'm glad you are here!!
