HELP PLEASE!!

i have eplilepsy.. but i am on medicine and i dont get seizures. However, if i am in nervous situations or under a lot of pressure i feel very wierd, as tho im about to experience a seizure or something, i really dont know what it is. i get very confused and nervous and start to sweat.  if anyone knows what this is please tell me it would help a lot! thanks
i have never missed a dose.. i take my meds everyday i take lamictal. i never experienced a REAL seizure, but they were mini seizures.. like bad twitches
im sixteen.. my last testing by a doctor was in August. Im not sure if its from the epilepsy or just nerves?? but i cant control it.. i feel confused and extremely nervous and uneasy but its only when im in nervous situations, for example i was in charge of handling money for my class the other day. Everyone came up and i had to write receipts and everyone was counting on me at once and i jus got nervous and started to feel like that.  And the other day i was driving with my mom and i was driving on the highway and my leg started to shake, nothing else just my leg and i started to feel nervous
I also have epilepsy and take Lamictal (Depakote also). I havne't had a grand mal in a long time.  But I have 'twitches' and also non-epileptic seizures(NES).  I know what you mean about that feeling that a seizure might start.  I have the same feeling before an NES.  I can't help but it is frustrating to always feel like a seizure might start, especially if it's a form of panic attack.  I wish I could help more.  Good luck.

sparkelz-

Welcome to HW.  I think that relaxation techniques/exercises definitely help with anxiety and help to improve coping with epilepsy.   I've had countless auras with and without a seizure, and it was no picnic.  I didn't know if  it was an aura (like I was literally going to die), or me feeling anxiety sometimes.  But after awhile, I had to develop a "plan" whenever it happened just to deal with it.  If I felt it coming on when I was with people, I always excused myself if possible to somewhere else. (I had several rehearsed excuses -got to use the bathroom, urgent phonecall, etc...).  If I couldn't get away or was in the middle of a conversation, I would say, "excuse me,  and do something to distract attention and help me focus on something else ( like tie my shoes, blow my nose, etc.)   MandiAnn-I like the citrus idea!

Then there were the more dangerous situations. Unfortunately, after several close calls, I learned to choose the lesser risky situation if there was a chance of a serious accident.  ( I avoided driving busy roads and learned to slowed down, etc...)  Of course, it didn't work out all the time, but it did make me feel less anxious and more relaxed in general.

I never hesitate to call my doctor's office for advise.  His nurse fields the calls and gets back to me, or if something is really wrong, I make an appointment sooner than my scheduled one.

It's frustrating, but hang in there...   MEGA HUGS,   Glenda :-)

Hi!

Perhaps what you are going through are panic attacks.  I have had Epilepsy for 26 years now.  I remember experiencing something similar to what you describe.  In my case, it was a fear of having a seizure in public.  Although I never actually DID have a full-blown seizure in public, I was always afraid.  I would feel odd, and start breathing funny.  Hope this helped.  Take care.

yeah i feel the same way.. its panic attacks?? i guess ill jus talk to my doctor.. cuz i do get very afraid especially with this new job i got, my sleepless hours scare me because im afraid of getting lke that in front of everybody
